Kin want to know cause of Morais’s death, say cops
Police today clarified the reluctance of the late Anthony Kevin Morais’s family to claim his remains as they wanted to know the cause of his death beforehand.
Deputy inspector-general of police Noor Rashid Ibrahim said his family members wanted to get confirmation from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Forensic Medical Department on the matter.
“Actually the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test results have been obtained a few days ago which confirmed the biological relationship between the deceased and his family members,” he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.
The body of Morais, 55, who was deputy chief of the Appellate and Trial Division in the Attorney-General’s Chambers, was found in a drum filled with concrete in Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya on Sept 16.
He was reported missing on Sept 4 and was last seen leaving his condominium in Menara Duta here to go to his office in Putrajaya in a Proton Perdana bearing registration number WA6264Q.
