Water disruption in areas of Kuala Langat next week

Several areas in Kuala Langat will experience scheduled water supply disruption from 8am until 8pm on Tuesday, Oct 6, following temporary shutdown of operations at the Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plant.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) executive director of corporate affairs Priscilla Alfred said Syabas had received an application from the operator for the temporary shutdown in order to make way for 2MG balance maintenance and cleaning works at the plant.

She said 8,066 households would be affected in Kampung Olak Lempit, Bukit Changgang, Labohan Dagang, Selangor Dredging, Taman Changgang Jaya, Kompleks Perabot Olak Lempit, Taman Arked, Taman Ambar, Taman Sri Dagang, Taman Topaz, Pusat Serenti, Bandar Mahkota, Taman Seri Telok Datok and Taman Seri Cheeding.

“The temporary shutdown of the plant, affecting water supply to these areas is to allow crucial maintenance works so as to avoid any failure of the plant’s equipment or infrastructure in the future,” she said in a statement today.

She said Syabas estimated full supply to the affected areas would resume in stages, depending on the location of the households.

Consumers can obtain detailed information on the status of water supply to their areas through the mySYABAS application which can be downloaded on smartphones via Google Playstore and Appstore.
