Pahang gov’t supports its mufti, says MB
The Pahang government fully supports the action of state mufti Abdul Rahman Osman who defended his Aidiladha sermon, said Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob.
He said the content of the sermon was on the right track, which was reminding the congregation about the current situation, in line with the objectives of the sermon.
"The sermon is one of the pillars of the Friday prayers and also Aidilfitri and Aidiladha prayers.
"It is a message which is read to the congregation to remind them on issues ranging from life to everyday events so that they can adapt to the current situation," he said.
He said this via the text messaging system to the media in Kuantan today.
It was in response to state DAP chairperson Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puri giving the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip) five days to apologise over the sermon or face possible legal action.
Tengku Zulpuri claimed that the sermon had offended Muslim members in the DAP.
