The haze conditions in four areas in Malacca and Negri Sembilan remain unchanged today with Air Pollutant Index (API) readings of between 102 and 107 as at 2pm.

Despite having unhealthy air quality, the API readings in those areas had slightly dropped, namely in Malacca City, which recorded an API reading of 105 this afternoon from 113 this morning, Bukit Rambai (to 107 from 111), Port Dickson (to 102 from 113) and Seremban (to 103 from 110).

Four areas which recorded unhealthy API readings this morning but improved to moderate readings this afternoon were Banting (100); Larkin Lama (94); Putrajaya (92) and Nilai (91).

Twenty-six other areas also recorded moderate readings, including Balok Baru, Kuantan (96); Kemaman (91); Pasir Gudang (90); Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur and Port Klang (each at 83), and Shah Alam (81).

Ten areas in Sabah and Sarawak maintained good API readings of between 26 and 50 since 9am.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
