Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali threatens to sue DAP's Raub MP Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz, who handles the ‘Sakmongkol AK47′ blog, for his defamatory remark against him in a posting last month.

Ibrahim said the post by Ariff ( photo ) titled " Keadaan Negara Kita Hari Ini - Siri 2 " (Our country's current situation - Series 2) on Sept 27, stating that "an empty can and loudmouth, Ibrahim Ali" was appointed as a company director by George Kent in a LRT phase 3 deal, is a "blatant lie".

"This is a slander with no basis whatsoever, and after the article was published, I got SMS from my friends which sullied my name.

"I have never known George Kent. I have never been appointed as George Kent's company director," former Pasir Mas MP said in a press conference at his office today.

In his letter of demand, sent this morning through lawyer Abu Talib Shahrom, he is seeking for the removal of the article posted in sakmongkol.blogspot.com , an apology for the allegation or prove that the 'Ibrahim Ali' in the article was not him.

Failing which, Ibrahim said, he will sue Ariff for RM10 million plus legal costs for defaming him.

Never made baseless accusation

Ibrahim said he was disappointed that Ariff, as an MP, did not do his research before writing the article.

"He should check with the Registrar of Companies through form 49 whether I am one of the board of directors or even own any shares.

"I can't forgive this anymore because it touches my reputation, dignity and integrity.

"Although people said I am a loudmouth, I have never made baseless accusation against anyone before," he said.

Ariff was a former Umno information chief in Pekan under prime minister and Pekan MP Najib Abdul Razak and had served as Pulau Manis assemblyman from 2004 to 2008.

He joined DAP in 2012, and actively engaged in the blogosphere attacking his former boss and Barisan Nasional.
