Although some of his Erdogan faction colleagues have formed a new party, former PAS vice-president Husam Musa has vowed to stay with Pas until his death.

He said amidst all the speculations and criticisms, he is still a PAS member and remains loyal to the party's struggle.

"If possible, I want to stay with PAS until death," he was quoted in Sinar Harian today.

"I am a PAS assemblyperson; this is not a matter of confusion. But people were defaming me even before the muktamar.

"Who are the ones who defamed me, and how did the party treat these people?

“What were the actions taken against these people who defamed me and my other friends?

"This defamation is the root cause of everything," he was quoted.

The Salor assemblyperson has been quiet despite some speculation that he may join the newly-formed Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

However, he said he doesn't reject the formation of Amanah as it may attract support from the non-Malays, especially those along the West Coast.

The former Kelantan state exco member also said his struggle in PAS was not aimed at getting positions.

Husam also didn't rule out possibility that this may be his last term as state assemblyperson.

No plot

"I don't mind if PAS doesn't nominate me again because my struggle is not to become a leader.

"I joined PAS because of idealism and principles," he told the Malay daily.

He said his recent criticism against the Kelantan government wasn't part of a plot to run down the state government.

He said all his statements were made to make sure Kelantan leaders stayed on the right track, especially with regards to the basics laid down by PAS former spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

When contacted by Malaysiakini , Husam (photo) declined to clarify his statement that he would like to remain with PAS until death if possible.

"If read, I'm sure it will be understood," he said.
