Saifuddin may cause problems for PKR, says Zahid
Umno vice-president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today he believes Saifuddin Abdullah of Umno will make “a huge contribution” of problems to Parti Keadilan Rakyat that he has joined.
“He is the right person to make that ‘huge contribution’ to that party,” he said when asked for his comments on Saifuddin, the former MP for Temerloh, who has moved over to PKR.
Ahmad Zahid, who had attended a briefing on the Bakun Hydro-Electric Power Station in Belaga, also said that the government would not be surprised if the opposition raised hot issues at the Dewan Rakyat budget session scheduled to begin on Oct 19.
He said the government was ready to provide clarifications and explanations to the issues, including the stated stand of the Malay rulers on government investment arm 1MDB.
The opposition parties should accept the official government explanation and not twist it with differing views, he said.
Ahmad Zahid, who is the deputy prime minister and home minister, said the opposition would not accept any explanation of the government.
