'BN pre-council meeting at PM's residence normal practice'
The BN pre-council meeting to be held at the official residence of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak tonight is a normal practice before the start of the Dewan Rakyat session.
Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz said several matters would be discussed at tonight's meeting including the bills (to be tabled) and controversial issues.
However, he added, matters related to the 2016 Budget would not be discussed tonight but be brought to the next cabinet meeting.
"There's nothing unusual about it (pre-council meeting) as it is held before the Dewan Rakyat session begins and it is held a few times in a year," he told reporters after launching the Asean Media Bloggers Tourism Hunt in Kuala Lumpur today.
There are 40 participants from Asean countries in the five-day programme which covers Putrajaya, Port Dickson and ending in Malacca, to promote Malaysia's tourism products and destinations.
Meanwhile, MIC president Dr S Subramaniam also said that tonight's BN pre-council meeting was a normal practice to discuss matters to be debated during the third meeting, third term of the 13th Parliament which would start tomorrow.
He was speaking to reporters after opening the MIC Youth, Wanita, Putera and Puteri Annual Assemblies at Menara Felda in Kuala Lumpur today.
Subramaniam also stated that MIC would always support the prime minister's leadership as Najib had undertaken various transformation efforts for the Indian community.
"Of course we will stand by PM (Najib) 110 percent. If there are issues, we solve them internally, not in Parliament. Rest assured we will stand by PM," he added.
