Former Umno deputy minister Saifuddin Abdullah who joined PKR last week, has been appointed as the chief secretary of the Pakatan Harapan secretariat.
This was announced by opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail after the new opposition coalition’s first presidential council meeting in Parliament today.
"Pakatan Harapan has decided to form a secretariat, and Saifuddin will be the new chief secretary," she said.
According to Wan Azizah, Pakatan Harapan will also form a task force to draft the common policy framework and coalition agreement.
This would be prepared by a taskforce, which will have a member from each of the three parties, she said.
Pakatan Harapan has been criticised as hastily formed on Sept 22 without a common policy framework and coalition agreement.
DAP had blamed the demise of Pakatan Rakyat on a serious violation of the common policy framework by PAS , when its president Abdul Hadi Awang tabled a private member's bill to allow Kelantan to implement hudud.
