PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has refused to be drawn into a mudslinging match with Mara boss Annuar Musa over the latter's homosexual jibe.

According to the Pandan MP, such remarks are unbecoming of an 'old man'.

"In the House, every time he stands up to debate with me, he will call me Pondan instead of Pandan.

"My stand has always been consistent. Annuar (who is the MP for Ketereh) is of my father's age. He is a very old man, akin to my father, so he should behave like one.

"I'm not going to take a cheap shot like that and degrade myself to his standard," he told reporters when met at the Parliament lobby today.

Earlier today, Annuar ( photo ) held a press conference to rebut Rafizi's allegation that a Mara Investment executive was linked to the council's Australian property scandal.

He said if Rafizi could claim that the executive was guilty by association, then he could also assume that the opposition lawmaker is a homosexual due to his association with PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim, who was convicted of sodomy.

However, Rafizi denied stating that the executive was guilty by association.

"I said there was a conflict of interest, because the company he was in before ended up selling properties at an inflated price to Mara," he explained.

As to Annuar's suggestion that he cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Rafizi believes the graftbuster is in possession of whatever documents he has.
