Agong undergoes scheduled medical check-up at IJN

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah underwent a scheduled medical check-up at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur last night.

Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Awang Kechik Abdul Rahman, in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today, said Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, 88, arrived at IJN at 10.30pm (Thursday, Oct 22) by his official vehicle to undergo scheduled medical check-up.

“Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong is resting and expected to resume duties soon,” it said.

He said Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah were deeply touched and thanked Malaysians for praying for his health and well-being.

Meanwhile, Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir advised all parties not to easily believe any news regarding the health of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah that has not been confirmed by the palace.

He said all parties should refrain from spreading rumours about Tuanku Abdul Halim, who is also the Sultan of Kedah.

“Just wait for the official statement from the palace. I urge all parties not to easily believe unconfirmed news,” he told reporters after officially opening Sehati 2015 programme organised by the Malaysia Global Innovation and Creativity Centre Social Enterprise Unit at Dewan Seri Mentaloon in Alor Setar today.

According to Mukhriz, he had also been informed unofficially about the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s health condition.

Mukhriz was commenting on rumours that were widely spread through the social media sites since last night about His Majesty’s health condition.
