The widow of Al-Arqam founder, the late Ashaari Muhammad, Hatijah Aam, who died yesterday, was buried at the Kampung Putat Muslim cemetery in Jitra at 10.20am today.
Hatijah, 61, also known as ‘Ummu Jah’, died at the Kedah Medical Centre (KMC) at 7.45pm yesterday from a heart attack.
About 1,000 family members, relatives and friends were at the Al-Islah Mosque in Kampung Putat, where the funeral prayer was held, to pay their last respect for her before the burial.
Meanwhile, Global Ikhwan Holding (GISB) chief executive officer Lokman Hakim Pfordten, in a statement today, said Rasidi Abdullah has been appointed executive chairperson of GISB Sdn Bhd and president of the Malaysian Welfare and Medical Service Foundation to replace Hatijah with immediate effect.
“As for other posts, including the board of directors, in both entities worldwide, there is no change,” the statement said.
