22 spots with ‘unhealthy’ API readings, Port Klang worst
Twenty-two areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9pm tonight.
According to the Department of Environment's portal, the areas were Port Klang, which recorded the highest API at 147, followed by Banting (136), Pasir Gudang (135), and Putrajaya and Shah Alam (131).
Other areas with unhealthy air quality were Malacca City (130), Kuala Selangor (128), Bukit Rambai and Port Dickson (126), and Larkin Lama (122).
Meanwhile, 28 areas recorded moderate air quality.
Only two areas recorded healthy API readings, namely the Federal Territory of Labuan (43) and Limbang, Sarawak (35).
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
