Liow: Budget 2016 will increase Chinese support for BN
Wg321:
MCA chief Liow Tiong Lai is jumping with joy when the ‘Cash is king’ PM allocated RM40 million to upgrade Chinese new villages.
There are about 500 Chinese new villages in Malaysia. That means each village will receive only about RM80,000. This is just crumbs compared with the huge amount of taxes the Chinese minority paid to the government.
Liow doesn’t seem to understand the aspirations of Chinese Malaysians, especially Generation Y. What they want are encapsulated in the ‘Five Demands of Bersih’.
He has totally lost touch with the young Chinese grassroots and only know how to ‘Make Chinese Angry’ (MCA).
Odin Tajué: Liow, the Chinese community will definitely see that your ‘Barang Naik’ government is very, very responsible.
And doubtless, hordes of Chinese will be yum-seng-ing in restaurants and karaoke-ing in karaoke joints as they celebrate the astronomical windfall amounting to RM130 million.
This has only been possible through the excellent manner in which you have been leading the MCA and your extraordinary ability in persuading PM Najib Razak to listen to you.
No other MCA president has ever had such an influence on the sitting ‘crime’ minister. I beg your pardon. I mean sitting prime minister.
At the coming GE14, you can be certain that the Chinese will spurn all the opposition candidates and vote for yours. Keep it up. Now don't ask me what the ‘it' is.
Justice Pao: RM90 million in micro credit for traders and RM40 million for new villages - it’s peanuts compared to what the 'pendatang/penumpang' paid in taxes and the billions going into personal account of cronies.
Gunnerrun: Liow, whatever breaks this budget brings, it's temporary. Our lives on this land, if we are not chased out, will continue to be trampled upon till our last breath.
It's nothing to be ungrateful about being citizens. Do the whites ask the blacks in the US if they are thankful for their lives in the States? It would seem too ridiculous even to question this in the first place.
The government is only interested in protecting its own and also to save Najib's hide. If your party falls, the building in Jalan Ampang next to the temple will be taken over and renamed... no more MCA shame for the rest of us who no longer support you.
Bluemountains: As the president of a party claiming to represent the interest of Chinese Malaysians, he has miserably failed to understand exactly what they want.
The Chinese wants a government that practises fairness, equality and upholds the rule of law. It's high time he wakes up from his slumber.
Lionheart: Liow, other than smooth flattering words, what else can you say? You are pathetic and a disappointment to those you proclaim to represent.
Get this right, for every RM2 taken, RM1 is given back.
FellowMalaysian: So the 'Cash is king' guy is proven right again. At least in the eyes of Liow Tiong Lai.
Splash a couple of millions for the Chinese new villages, a little more for poor traders and a modicum in tax relief for the suffering middle-class, and these are enough to make Liow sing high praises and even give him enough juices to foretell that the Chinese will be dead pleased with the generosity of Najib and turn the tide in BN’s favour at the next election.
As the head of the largest Chinese-based party in the government, Liow's evaluation and interpretation of the Chinese's line-of-thought is hopelessly flawed.
If he truly believes in what he said – that Budget 2016 will increase Chinese support for BN - he will be proven wrong in the coming general election.
The Mask: Indeed, Liow still don’t get it. It is the system - the corruption, the stealing, the blind support of a crook, the authoritative intervention of the various institutions doing their duties, the selective prosecution and persecution, which is riling and infuriating the rakyat.
No amount of money can redeem this blatant abuse of power.
Anonymous_1375693422: No, Mr MCA President, even if the Budget has the effect you wish, it won't be enough to save the MCA. You will have to do a lot more.
Sad to say, I have seen nothing promising from you to date. No matter how desperate you feel, you should know the futility of clutching at any straw.
If you have no better ideas, at least do the honourable thing and quit; let someone else have a go at saving the party.
Don't you realise that MCA would probably die come GE14 if you continue this way? And that time is fast running out? Believe it or not, this is not an unfriendly comment.
Proarte: Indeed, for MCA Chinese 'cash is king'. Never mind about the thick haze which is choking the Chinese, never mind their 'pendatang' tag, never mind being shut out from the civil service, never mind the discrimination in university entrance and dumbing down of the public universities, never mind the fact that health care provision is deteriorating.
According to MCA, Chinese are a pathetic and immoral bunch who put a low value on health, the environment, education, rule of law, good governance, feeling of self-worth and dignity.
Just throw money at the Chinese and they will come running to you like mangy dogs.
