An opposition MP has asked if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his cabinet members are ready to answer parliamentary questions on 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion donation scandal via a live streaming broadcast by state-owned RTM1.

Sim Tze Tzin (PKR-Bayan Baru) raised this when he discovered that two questions on the topics were never lifted to the first 15 oral questions for the current Parliament session which commenced from Oct 19.

"A total of 41 questions, or an average of eight questions per day, were brought by MPs over the last eight days. This is equivalent to 10 percent of the total questions asked.

"But, strangely, they were never lifted to the first 15 oral questions," Sim said.

"Only one question was lifted to number 26, while the rest fell behind question 30," said the PKR strategic director.

RTM1 airs live the Parliament session from 10am to 11.30am from Mondays to Thursdays, which carries the question-and-answer session of the sitting.

The House normally only completes the first 10 to 12 questions listed on the Order Paper. During the session, MPs are allowed to ask the ministers or deputy ministers additional questions.

"1MDB and the RM2.6 billion donation are two of the biggest scandals in the country. The MPs want to bring the issue to the House.

"This has raised doubts that the ministers are not ready to answer the two issues during a live broadcast," Sim said.
