Nine opposition MPs have lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) urging it to probe repairs costing RM76.5 million at KLIA2.

The lawmakers want the graft buster to look into various faults at the budget airline airport, including cracks on the runway and soil depression which had caused flooding on the tarmac.

"We want a detailed probe on these matters and identify if elements of graft or crime were (involved)," they said in the letter addressed to MACC chief Abu Kasim Mohamed.

The nine lawmakers were Sepang MP Hanipa Maidin, Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul, Kuala Langat MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, PAS Kubang Kerian MP Ahmad Baihaki Atiqullah, Kota Melaka MP Sim Tong Him, Kapar MP G Manivanan, Kuala Terengganu MP Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah, and Tumpat MP Kamarudin Jaffar.

"They have accepted our report and said they will look into it," Hanipa said at a press conference in the Parliament lobby today.

He added that the MACC also asked for a copy of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on the repairs.

On Nov 25 last year, the PAC blamed Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad's ineptitude and inexperience for RM2.3 billion in cost overruns at KLIA2.

It also recommended that the auditor-general look into the airport.
