Perkasa has proposed the establishment of the National Council of Islamic Brotherhood (Muin) to enable Umno and PAS to find solutions on issues related to Islam and the monarchy.

Its president Ibrahim Ali said Muin can be a joint Umno-PAS body to discuss issues pertaining to the interests of Malays and Islam, without involving politics.

"Perkasa as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has no political interests wants Muin to be a place for Umno and PAS to address several issues related to Islam and the monarchy," he told reporters after opening Kuala Terengganu Perkasa's special general meeting today.

According to him, the proposed establishment of Muin had been submitted to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang three weeks ago, and the party was willing to look into it.
