Maria Chin to be charged over Bersih 4

BH Yap: Bersih leader Maria Chin to be charged, but the red shirt clowns are all free and they even have the PM's endorsement.

Malaysia has been made a circus by the government's selective prosecution.

Chokstone: History tells us that whenever a regime used draconian laws to wipe out dissent, abused its power with the selective prosecution of the opposition critics, suppressed the society's freedom of expression, you will see in a very short period the destruction of the governing party and finally the downfall of the regime.

You can't deny that the government is extremely desperate and does not care about the country's image. They will cling on to power at all cost without thinking about how bad this will affect the economy.

Anonymous_1391693662: The government has indeed gone haywire.

All Malaysians should support Maria in full force and if possible, appear in large crowds (from 100,000 to 500,000) at her trial to show our support.

Beeep!: The Malaysian government is learning from Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew: kill the opposition off with lawsuits and sledgehammer tactics.

Have courage, Maria. Hundreds of thousands followed you at Bersih 4 and hundreds of thousands will turn up to say “we were there too”!

Big Data: Why charge only Maria? Go charge everybody who participated in the rally, including former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

And what about the stupid red shirts? They were out to cause a racial riot in Malaysia.

Vgeorgemy: Extreme right-wing extremists are winning the internal power struggle in Umno. This proves that Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is impatient for the PM’s post.

Anonymous 2368651442807108: I guess Human Rights Watch was not exaggerating in their report after all.

Azmin defends deficit budget in largest spending for S'gor

Oh Ya: On what moral high grounds can Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali and the opposition now criticise the other side for being spendthrift, incurring high debts, running two decades of fiscal deficit and bankrupting the country?

Are they not the causes of the country's elevated state and household debts? What is the opposition going to do if ever it runs out of money? Sell their souls and the state to the ruling elite?

Former Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim was absolutely right in being financially prudent and only spent within the state's means. This should be the discipline that not only the state must have but every Malaysian household too.

Wira: As long as you have the money as well as the reserve to do it, you should spend on the development of infrastructure in the state as it will bring benefit to the people.

Accumulating all those reserves is not the right way to run a state government because your hoard is not going to affect the value of the ringgit. That is the job of Putrajaya.

Quigonbond: Each budget needs to be judged by what the allocation is for, and if it is justified. It becomes an issue if the allocation is not accounted for and goes into a black hole.

Wastage and corruption is serious and endemic under BN. If there is a significant margin of improvement under Pakatan rule, I say that's a big welcome change in itself.

Send In The Clowns: The RM2.88 billion budget in Selangor is only slightly above Najib's RM2.6 billion 'donation' which was remitted into his personal bank accounts.

The question begging for an answer is this: Where has the RM2.6 billion gone?

Azmin: Toll highways approved by predecessor

Aries46: Azmin, Khalid Ibrahim was given the boot for his undermining ways and backdoor dealings with Umno and this subsequently led to you cancelling the Kidex (Kinrara–Damansara Expressway). So your excuse for the three other highways being approved by him is untenable.

The corruption riddled Umno-BN regime is practically choking the Selangorians with Goods and Services Tax (GST), petrol hikes, toll increases and every other form of taxation - and this has seen massive hikes in cost of living - to cover up its allegedly stolen billions from state institutions such as 1MDB and others.

Umno's endless toll highways conspired under OSA (Official Secrets Act) are daylight robbery of the masses to enrich itself and its cronies. The abolition of such curse on the people is one of Pakatan's significant election promises that needs no further elaboration.

Please stop playing politics and beating around the bush and do what you promised the Pakatan voters.

ConstitutionIsSupreme: If the previous MB had only agreed in principle as correctly pointed out by you, Azmin, then it is not final.

It will be just a simple step to bring the issue to the state exco meeting or the state assembly to cancel the "agree in principle" by Khalid as it is not legally binding.

Ima realist: Azmin is still Pakatan Rakyat, not Pakatan Harapan, and he's not the future. He belongs to the past - Umno.
