Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has brushed off the call by a state DAP delegate to remove PAS exco member or risk DAP leaving the Selangor government.

When asked for a response at the Parliament lobby today. Azmin asked: "Is that the opinion of Selangor DAP or of one delegate?"

"I hold to the decision by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng that DAP will remain with PKR and PAS (in Selangor) to ensure that we would be able to deliver to the people as we promised in 2013.

"That was the decision of DAP. You can't pick the opinion of one delegate and go against me, that's not fair," he added.

Yesterday, Kajang Baru DAP branch chairperson Chiong Yoke Kong proposed that the deadlock over the present ad-hoc PKR-DAP-PAS state government be solved by removing all the Islamic party's representatives from state executive council.

He said DAP should quit the Selangor government if Azmin refused to comply.

In response, DAP vice-chairperson Teng Chang Khim said the party should stay in Shah Alam as a form of check-and-balance on PAS.

DAP and PAS broke ties in June, leading to the demise of Pakatan Rakyat.

Selangor is the only place where the two parties maintain a working relationship, with PKR serving as the anchor.
