It will be too late to debate on 1MDB if interested parties have to wait until after the Public Accounts Committee's (PAC) investigation is completed, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli warned today.

He said the investigation could take years to complete, and might never even see the light of day.

"My fear is that with the change of PAC leadership and membership, we may never see the light of day into the 1MDB investigation.

"What if the PAC probe ends three or four years from now? By that time it will be too late (to debate)," Rafizi said at a press conference in the Parliament lobby.

Rafizi has taken up the mantle to debate the issue that Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tong Pua kicked off with 1MDB chief executive Arul Kanda Kandasamy.

However, Arul Kanda has declined the challenge, citing Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia's concern that the debate should take place after the PAC investigation is completed.
