The National Civic Bureau (BTN), notorious for its courses to instill pro-government sentiments, said it welcomed the 23-year-old singer behind the viral music video Mana Hilang 2.6 Bintang (Where have the 2.6 stars disappeared) to attend its courses.

College student Amirudin Hizadin had sung the song out of frustration of the unresolved issue of RM2.6 billion in Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank accounts and the rising cost of living.

"We welcome him (to attend our courses) but his video does not represent the rakyat's voice in the country because the government is very caring.

"In Budget 2016 recently, the prime minister emphasised on the cost of living," BTN director Raja Arif Raja Ali ( photo, white shirt ) told a press conference after the National Patriotism Convention in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

Raja Arif was asked to respond to Amirudin's music video .

Amirudin's video has garnered over 200,000 views on Youtube after he first uploaded it on Monday.

He lamented about the cost of toll, petrol, electricity and food but tried to soothe himself by singing, 'Never mind, (I'll) wait for BR1M and assistance'.

As the song continues, Amirudin laments about other hardships, and repeatedly attempts to convince himself that there may be a brighter side to things.

However, the song comes to a close with Amirudin questioning if this was true, why then is everyone still 'depressed'.

In an interview with Malaysiakini , the shy Amirudin said he wrote the song out of frustration after becoming ' stressed ' over the high cost of living.
