Weak earthquake strikes Ranau in Sabah

A weak earthquake, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, struck Ranau in Sabah at 12.27am today, according to the Meteorological Department.
It said the quake caused tremors that were felt in Ranau.
The department also said that a moderate earthquake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, struck Luzon in the Philippines at 3.40am today.
It said both earthquakes did not pose any tsunami threat.
The area has seen regular minor quakes since the devastating 5.9 earthquake shook the mountainous region on Jun 5.
