The Umno Information Bureau will hold a premier briefing session on the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), Budget 2016 and 1MDB, for five groups in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan said the session would be attended by Barisan Nasional and Umno division leaders, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), government agencies, corporate leaders, and youth and student leaders.
He said the briefing is aimed at shedding lights on matters pertaining to the three issues in an effort to curb exploitation by irresponsible parties.
“I think this is better than having a closed-door session. About 1,000 people are expected to attend the briefing,” he said at a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed would enlighten the audience on the TPP, Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah (Budget 2016) and 1MDB president and executive director of 1MDB Arul Kanda Kandasamy (1MDB).
Ahmad, who is also deputy international trade and industry minister, said the public could also attend the briefing at the Tun Hussein Onn Hall, PWTC, from 8am to 2pm.
Those interested to attend the briefing can contact the secretariat at 03-40429511/40482656/40503327 or fax 03-40456433.
