Former PAS vice-president Husam Musa will not leave the party, his compatriot Mahfuz Omar says.

The former PAS information chief said there was no reason for Husam to do so

"I don't think he'll leave (the party). From what I see, he wants transparency in how Kelantan is run, and (similarly for) PAS too.

"That's what I sense from his statements; nothing more than that," Mahfuz told Malaysiakini .

The Pokok Sena MP also dismissed that the bai'ah (oath of loyalty) was holding Husam back from leaving the party.

"I don't think the bai'ah is tying him down. Others can leave; why not he?" he pointed out.

Mahfuz said if the Kelantan government is not happy with Husam, it should take legal steps against the Salor assemblyperson.

"If the state government thinks that what he says is wrong, then it should take legal action against Husam.

"The state government has to clear its name on whether or not Husam's allegations are true," Mahfuz added.

Husam has been on a warpath against the PAS-led Kelantan administration, especially on the issue of alleged illegal logging .

He has also been critical of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and exposed an alleged plot by Hadi to form a unity state government with Umno in Selangor.

Following this, PAS Ulama chief Mahfodz Mohamed told Husam to leave the party and join Amanah.

Husam is expected to make an announcement on his stand during a dialogue in Kota Bharu tonight.
