DAP need not bother, Ali Tinju is untouchable
YOURSAY | ‘He will never be convicted even if he is to be charged.’
Perak DAP hands copy of Ali Tinju evidence to cops
Anonymous 2028781434694491:
Malay Armed Forces Veterans Association president Mohd Ali Baharom aka Ali Tinju will never be convicted even if he is to be charged by the unwilling police and a reluctant attorney-general (AG).
This man is a paid runner and therefore the tongue and mouth of the newly-minted billionaire.
When he made the allegedly seditious speech, police personnel (Special Branch) were around and they had the evidence.
Iiiizzzziiii: And the AG thumbed his chest and proclaimed, ‘ I fear no one. ’
A person may be stupid but I did not know that a learned person like Mohamed Apandi Ali can exhibit ‘learned stupidity’ to the masses.
Why is it many of the present ministers or those holding senior positions in the government are making statements that has no logic?
Oh Ya?: So what? The inspector-general of police (IGP) and AG will say they cannot establish the authenticity of the video (showing Ali Tinju making the allegedly seditious remarks).
Even if it is authenticated, they will say that unless the person who record the video comes forward as a witness, it cannot be used as court evidence.
Even if it passes through these hurdles, don't expect the offenders will be charged under the Sedition Act or for other more serious punitive legislations.
The most they will get away with is a small fine, just like those ‘gangsters’ who broke into the Penang State Assembly.
Some pro-Umno judges may even discharge them for “exercising their constitution rights in defending the 3Rs (race, religion and the royalty)”.
Gunnerrun: The PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) and Pemandu are only concerned with having the presence of police all over the place so that people will have a better and more positive perception of their contribution.
But actual crimes remain unsolved, so much so that most people resort to not reporting them as the PDRM is only more interested in doing PR to salvage its image.
Don't expect PDRM to go sleuthing on YouTube for evidence. They probably have internet connections at 4mbps Streamyx at the best, where our communications minister is saying is the kind preferred by every level of society, whether for business or pleasure... and thus there is no need to fear we will be left behind.
Anonymous_1371482984: Yes, that's correct. I was robbed once and reported to the police, giving them the registration number of the motorcycle of the robbers. Nothing came out of it.
The second time I was nearly robbed and suffered some injuries, I didn't even bother to report to the police.
Ipohcrite: The police had so far not responded to what Apandi had said - that the police did not gather sufficient evidence for him to prosecute Ali Tinju.
That's so unlike the police, who could so swiftly swing into action and have ample evidence to charge activists and opposition leaders for sedition and Sosma offences.
I wonder what happened to the police in this case. If it was poor investigation, that could easily be remedied by re-investigations unless they were reluctant to do so. But why?
Khairy: Ministers should avoid making senseless comments
Not Confused: Sports and Youth Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, you are whistling in the wind.
Especially, when the majority of ministers and other government leaders are trying desperately to make a name for themselves and crave the attention from their so-called illustrious leader. Dream on, KJ.
Labis Guy: KJ, I would fully agree with you that some so-called ministers open their mouth without going through their grey matter in their head.
These so-called ministers are making this lovely country looks like it is being rule by idiots and the whole world is laughing at us.
Anonymous 109681439536914: Khairy, good call. But please tell the country how many in the cabinet have sense, common sense.
Anonymous_1372741039: Such immaturity, senseless and insensitive comments from these so-called ministers stem from arrogance and contempt for the rakyat. Had it been elsewhere, such ministers would have been amply roasted.
There is a tremendous lacking of civil decorum and it is embarrassing to the nation with such unschooled clowns.
Ib: But the kampong people don't see it that way. They worship these ministers and will line up to kiss their hands, hoping that they will get a piece of land, a contract, or at least a letter of recommendation for their projects or for their children.
Without such benevolent ministers, there is no hope in life for the ‘orang kampung’ (villagers) and that would be tragic.
