Johor sultan upset over ‘false news’ on Tunku Abdul Jalil

The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, is upset that some social media media practioners were targeting his son Tunku Abdul Jalil, as a victim in the dissemination of false news, recently.

Saying that the spread of such stories must promptly cease, he said Tunku Abdul Jalil was in good condition but was forced to seek hospital treatment after he complained of back pain recently.

“Tunku Laksamana was warded because the treatment facility at the palace is inadequate.

“So, the public should not spread false news. I am upset because Tunku Laksamana’s condition is not acute as trumpeted about and I hope the public continue to pray for his good health,” he told reporters after attending a meeting with the Johor Pardon Board at the Sultan Ibrahim Building in Johor Baru today.

Sultan Ibrahim said this when commenting on a report on Tunku Abdul Jalil who was said to be acutely ill due to cancer which had became viral on social sites.

Sultan Ibrahim said he did not want the spreading of false news continue to proliferate in Johor as he had appointed the current state government.

“The government knows the aim of the dissemination, so no need to spread improper news especially bloggers, who purportedly seemed to know first (all matters) before the incidents take place,” he said.

Earlier, he announced that at least 30 crime cases involving convicts statewide were being considered for pardon in conjunction with his birthday on Nov 22.

The final decision on the consideration for pardon would be announced via the mass media soon, he said.
