'Transgender people exist, don’t try to change us'

Regina Ibrahim is a transgender person on a mission to tell the world to stop trying to change her, or those in her community.

“Like it or not, transgenders exist. It’s terrible denying us our rights. Trying to ‘cure’ our sexuality is a waste of precious time.”

To Regina, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, commemorated annually on Nov 20 since 1999, is a day to remind people not to waste time trying to change the gender of transgender people.
