National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW) director Akmal Nasir has spurned the invitation for a cup of tea with Rosmah Mansor’s aide.

Tickled by the question posed during a press conference, the whistleblower said he did not have the time.

"No time. There are many other issues I have to face. I have to face the police (investigations), the law suit, and he is asking me to have tea (with him)," he added.

Rizal Mansor had invited Akmal to tea in order to explain to the latter what the term 'patron' meant.

This is in relation to Akmal who asked whether Rosmah, the wife of the prime minister, was the patron of a charity foundation for orphans, Yayasan Pembangunan Anak Yatim/Miskin (Pemangkin).

"I want to invite Akmal to have tea, then I can explain to him what the word patron means.

"He asks me questions and I will answer, vice versa," Rizal had said in a Facebook post.

The aide added that he could also tell Akmal the list of societies and organisations of which Rosmah is the patron.

Last week, Akmal had claimed that Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (Yapeim) funds were used to fund marriage courses in Paris, France.

Pemangkin is under Yapeim.

Akmal had also claimed that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom had gone golfing abroad with funds for orphans.

The minister has denied the allegation and since sued the NOW director.

There were also allegations of Pemangkin money being used by Yapiem for events in Australia.

Akmal is also being investigated by the police with regard to how he procured the leaked information.
