Deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker Ronald Kiandee has reminded Parliament staff to be more careful, so as to avoid another language faux pas.

This was after a photo of a Parliament staff dinner menu, where “ scissors salad ” was served, went viral last night.

"I happened to be at the dinner. I confirm that there were no scissors in the salad, just a regular 'Caesar Salad'.

"Eventhough this was an amusing mistake by the caterer, but as an important institution, Parliament staff must be more careful so that this doesn't happen again in the future," Kiandee said in a Facebook posting today.

A photo of the menu, where "Caesar Salad" was presented as "Scissors Salad" went viral last night and even caught the attention of leading politicians.

Among them was Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin who posted a picture of a bowl of lettuce shaped like scissors on Twitter.

Another mistake spotted on the menu was a misspelling of "creme brulee".
