PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today urged the 47 parliamentarians from Sabah and Sarawak to quit BN and form a new coalition for the two states.

This is because, she said, the BN government has failed to honour the 18 and 20-point Malaysia Agreements with the two states.

"In a parliamentary written reply, the minister in the prime minister's department had said the 18 and 20 point agreements were non-binding.

“Thus Sarawak chief minister Adenan Satem's promises to demand that the federal government fulfil its promises is none other than empty talk.

"BN's promises will not be fulfilled. We in Pakatan Harapan, particularly PKR, therefore offer them our national reform agenda," she said when delivering her policy address at the two-day PKR congress in Petaling Jaya.

At a press conference later, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali said the Sabah and Sarawak MPs were used by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for his own interests while the two states were marginalised.

The lawmakers from Borneo have often voiced out their dissatisfaction at Parliament sittings, he added.

He suggested that a Borneo congress be organised so BN lawmakers and state leaders can discuss ways to resolve problems faced.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said Pakatan Harapan secretariat chief secretary Saifuddin Abdullah has been tasked with coordinating the seat negotiations for the upcoming Sarawak state election.

In her speech, Wan Azizah urged Putrajaya to fork out RM17 billion from the RM39 billion to be collected from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) next year as a "conditional direct cash transfer" to 3.85 million households.

"This is a RM17 billion scheme as compared to the RM5.6 billion of 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M)," she noted.

"We want those with household incomes below RM5,000 to get this income," she said.
