VP fumes over 'crappy faux paper' at PKR congress
PKR AGM | PKR will lodge a report over alleged sabotage after “fake” copies of Selangor government newspaper Selangorkini was circulated at the party's annual congress today.
Its vice president Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said the “fake” newspapers had “crappy content” which were slanderous.
“We will lodge a police report soon, most likely tomorrow,” the Bukit Katil MP told Malaysiakini.
He earlier condemned the alleged sabotage in his winding up speech at PKR's 11 th national congress at Shah Alam.
The fake newspapers were distributed when delegates filled the hall at about 8 this morning but party workers were quick to take back the copies after realising they were fake.
“The front page is good, the back page is also good but the inside pages are crappy and full of slander,” he said.
He accused Umno of being behind the “sabotage” but did not provide evidence of such.
“This proves our party is stronger and will be able to face Umno/BN in the next polls,” he said.
Meanwhile, Selangorkini publisher Communicaion Corporation Snd Bhddied that the newspaper copies distributed at the congress came from the firm.
Its editor-in-chief Ceclia Alphonsos said the eight pages contained sabotage and defamation, Selangorkini reported.
A police report was lodged at the Shah Alam district police headquarters at 5.30pm.
The inside pages of the fake newspaper contained reports slandeing the Azmin administration and its policies.
