The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) grilled 1MDB boss Arul Kanda Kandasamy for almost five hours today, but they're not done with him yet.
"They asked questions on administration and what have we done from (1MDB's) formation until now. But as you understand what was said in the PAC can't be discussed (publicly).
"The questions today we managed to answer to the best of our ability," Arul Kanda told reporters after today's session ended.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) grilled 1MDB boss Arul Kanda Kandasamy for almost five hours today, but it is not done with him yet.
"They (panel members) asked questions on administration and what have we done from (1MDB's) formation until now. But as you understand, what was said in the PAC can't be discussed (publicly).
"The questions today we managed to answer to the best of our ability," Arul Kanda told reporters after today's session ended.
PAC chief Hasan Arifin said the 1MDB boss would be called back on Dec 18.
"We are satisfied but we need more details [...] Arul Kanda managed to give full cooperation and give good answer to us.
"However, we have to call him again to get some information to give a fair and good report to Parliament," Hasan ( photo ) said when met by reporters.
Today's grilling lasted from 11am till 5pm, with a one and a half hour break in between.
Earlier in the morning, Arul Kanda had said: "We are ready for the proceeding."
Hasan, meanwhile, had indicated that all was going well.
"So far, Arul Kanda's testimony has been satisfactory," Hasan told reporters during the break.
Does not have much baggage
Hasan's deputy, Kepong MP Tan Seng Giaw, said Arul Kanda was called, among others, to explain how 1MDB will settle its problems.
"Basically he (Arul Kanda) does not have much baggage. Everything happened before he took over.
"But PAC has to call him because he is dealing with public money, and (ask) how are they planning to settle the problems," Tan said.
The PAC yesterday finished grilling former 1MDB CEO Shahrol Halmi after two sessions, and was also satisfied with his testimony.
Shahrol was asked about the administration of 1MDB, starting from the time it was the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) in 2009 until the formation of 1MDB in September 2009.
The PAC also heard Shahrol's explanation on the establishment of the 1MDB-PetroSaudi International joint venture.
The PAC will next call 1MDB chairperson Lodin Wok Kamaruddin on Dec 17, which is also when it expects to receive the full audit report on 1MDB.
