If talking about the RM2.6 billion scandal is sub judice, then by the same logic, the millions of people in and outside the country who have been talking about this subject should be deemed guilty of sub judice?

It is basic legal knowledge that sub judice may only arise when a case is under trial in court, where certain open discussion of the subject is of such nature that it has a strong tendency to unduly sway the decision of judge or jury.

In PM Najib Razak’s case, it is still in the investigation stage, so how does sub judice arise?

Does the Umno-BN government expect the country and the world to remain silent when the prime minister is found to have an unaccounted-for RM2.6 billion in his personal bank account just because the scandal is under investigation?

Which country in the world would tolerate its prime minister to continue in office for five long months when he has steadfastly and stubbornly refused to explain the mystery of such colossal sum in his possession - and when such silence has caused the country’s currency to plummet and investors to take flight?

And now, on this last day of the current parliamentary session, when the PM promised earlier in the august House to give his long-awaited answers to the questions surrounding the scandal, he absconded from the House with such a preposterous pretext.

What does such conduct say to the people? A person who is innocent or a person who is guilty?

Irrespective of the outcome of all the probes, the people have already reached their verdict.

Victor Johan: "The government is advised by the attorney-general that matters pertaining to the (ongoing) investigation cannot be discussed. This will be a sub judice."

What matter is under ongoing investigation? How can this discussion in the Parliament be deem sub judicial when the matter had not gone to the court and Najib has not been charged as yet?

Clongviews: The IGP (inspector-general of police) advised Najib to stay away from the ‘Nothing to hide’ forum.

Now the AG advised Najib to stay away from Parliament to avoid explaining the RM2.6 billion allegedly found in his bank accounts. Obviously, it shows that there is plenty to hide.

Surely, Umno members who are delegates to next week’s general assembly should have the courage to raise this issue to save the country's image.

He should be protecting the nation and not a certain individual. The time has come for the AG to resign as he is not fit to hold the post.

Mojo Jojo: I don't get it. Since the RM2.6 billion entered the PM's personal account, it should be a personal matter and not a government matter.

Why then is a public servant such as the AG being used to advice the PM on the latter's private affairs?

But all these excuses of sub judice remained excuses. Doesn’t the AG know that words uttered in Parliament enjoy immunity?

Anonymous 122461436161429: Nobody expected a proper answer and there was no anti-climax yesterday as everyone knew there would be no answers.

The answers are what has appeared in the media over the last few months and we really didn't need the DPM to explain the matter.

To date no one has answered as to where the RM2.6 billion came from, for what it was used for, why it was in the PMs personal account, whether it was used for the general elections and where the balance has gone.

Aries46: Anyone who expected Najib to turn up in Parliament yesterday to explain the RM2.6 billion in his private bank account must be either naive or stupid.

So Najib has effectively, for the second time, forfeited the golden opportunity to address the general perception that he has 'everything to hide'.

As for Zahid's claims to have met the Middle Eastern donor, it would be interesting to find out how many Malaysians believe him.

1Citizen: I cannot imagine any PM in the Commonwealth asking his deputy to answer on his behalf questions on an issue that is of national concern.

I hope by 2020 when Malaysia will host CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting), the Malaysian PM (whoever he or she will be) will have better class and show that Malaysia does have some international standards.

On the other hand, Azalina, if you are so eager to bring Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah for something that she is not in control of to the parliamentary rights and privileges committee, why can't you bring your boss too on something which he was directly in control and involved?
