Amanah is more popular with youths and non-Muslims because it is "without sin", claimed Amanah secretary-general Anuar Tahir.

"This party is without sin, that is why the youth and non-Muslims choose us, and give special attention to us, hence the overwhelming response," Anuar told a press conference at the Amanah headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

He said this while announcing that the PAS splinter party had from its formation on Sept 16, received 50,000 member applications thus far.

He added the highest number of applications came from Kelantan, with 12,000 membership forms filled up.

Membership in the PAS splinter group is open to non-Muslims.

On a separate matter, Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub clarified that Amanah president Mohamad Sabu's claim that PAS is infiltrated by Islamic State ideology was just a warning.

He said Mohamad was just reminind all Islamic groups, including Amanah, to be on guard against militant ideologies

"What was said by Mohamad was meant for all [...] its for all to be wary (of militant ideas)," Salahuddin said at a press conference in the Amanah headquarters today.

Mohamad was reported as saying that Amanah was formed because IS ideologies has inflitrated PAS.

He also urged a thorough security investigation on the matter, which he claimed was the reason behind PAS' culture of branding other Muslims infidels.
