UMNO AGM Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said delegates speaking at this year’s Umno general assembly are divided over the gag on party deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin.

“You can see the action from the delegates just now when people were sarcastically referring to the obvious exclusion of his (Muhyiddin) part in the assembly.

“It reflects very strongly the disagreement expressed by the delegates,” he told reporters at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

Muhyiddin was barred from speaking at this year's AGM after he continued to lash out against Najib and the 1MDB affair.

This resulted in him losing his position as deputy prime minister earlier this year.

Despite the factionalism, the Gua Musang MP, popularly known as Ku Li, said Umno remained united.

He said this unity, however, will be put to the test at the next general election.

"We'll see not just the challenge on the leadership but in the choice of candidates, the platforms that will be offered and whether the leadership has solved most of the problems that have become issues confronting them and the country," he said.

He said a lot of work needs to be done on the ground, a fact the Gua Musang MP said Najib was fully aware of.
