An air cargo company has claimed three Boeing 747 jets apparently abandoned at the country’s main airport.

The Kuala Lumpur-based Swift Air Cargo, which is currently called Splunk n’ Dash Sdn Bhd, said it did not forget the three 747s it parked at the KL International Airport.

The company expressed surprise that the airport said in newspaper advertisements this week that it had taken “exhaustive steps” to locate the owners of the aircraft.

“SwiftI has been meeting with Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) on a consistent basis,” most recently in mid October, it said late yesterday.

“We were waiting for yet another meeting to present more documentation and information as requested by MAHB, when instead MAHB announced to the world that the owner of the B747s was missing.”

Airport officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

On Monday, the airport management company placed advertisements in local newspapers in Malaysia seeking the owners of three Boeing jets left unclaimed at the country’s main airport, in an apparent bid to collect unpaid service fees and other charges.
