UMNO AGM Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein admitted there was "burning anger" at the party's supreme council meeting on Wednesday in response to reports that Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin had hurled expletives.

"The decision yesterday (Wednesday) may have affected the feelings and emotions of said leaders but today, I see that the anger that was burning last night has subsided," said Hishammuddin.

A video recording of Hishammuddin's statement was uploaded on his personal Youtube channel yesterday under the title: "Response to Suara TV 's news - Unable to speak, Muhyiddin goes berserk after supreme council meeting".

Yesterday, SuaraTV reported that Muhyiddin had used expletives in front of Hishammuddin after the supreme council meeting concluded.

Muhyiddin was reportedly angry that the council broke decades-long tradition by barring him from delivering the winding-up speech in his capacity as Umno deputy president.

The report added the incident was also overheard by other Umno supreme council leaders.

However, Hishammuddin in the video did not specifically say what was uttered by Muhyiddin.

Hishammuddin said overcoming such tiffs was Umno's strength and urged members to focus on the interest of the party.

"What is important now is Umno's image... The party is more important than us," he said.
