UMNO AGM The Umno top leadership has been urged to stop awarding big projects to towkays (business owners) who support the DAP.

Umno delegate Abdullah Mat Yassim, in debating the motion on economy, today said this is because most projects are spearheaded by big companies which in turn give aid to the DAP.

“I want to ask help from department heads and the top leadership to ensure that towkays who are pro-DAP will not be awarded big projects,” he said at the Umno annual general assembly today.

On another matter, Abdullah expressed astonishment on why several Umno leaders have been so angry with party president Najib Abdul Razak when the latter has been so “concerned” about the plight faced by the people.

“I see cash aids given by the federal government for the people in Kelantan when the floods happened, and aids in terms of school necessities as well as BR1M.

“Why are leaders so angry with Najib when plenty of aid has been received from the federal government ever since he became prime minister?" he asked.

Abdullah also urged Umno leaders to bring to court the opposition if it defames them.

“I want to ask the president and the deputy president to sue the opposition when they create slander.

“Datuk Seri (Najib), you should not worry, everyone is willing to die with you, you are not alone,” he said.
