On ties with PAS, it’s better to reboot and reformat the OS

YOURSAY | ‘PAS' body is in the opposition but the heart and mind is with BN.’

What's wrong and right about Rafizi's GE14 strategy

FairMind: Instead of spending time and energy in thinking how a PAS-Pakatan Harapan relationship could work, it is better that PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli spend his time and energy in explaining to the rakyat, especially to those Malays in the rural heartlands, about good governance, accountability and unity.

A PAS-Pakatan relationship is too unstable to start with and even if PAS-Pakatan wins Putrajaya, it will eventually crumble in a short time.

Why risk an unworkable and unstable platform? Like a computer hard disk which has become corrupt and unstable, it is better to reboot and reformat with a newer and better operating system (OS).

Has Rafizi ever wondered about the consequence of this relationship - that PAS' body is in the opposition but the heart and mind is with BN?

Hopeful123: Well Rafizi, PAS will continue to be a thorn in the flesh. They have proved to be such for a number of times. We must learn to accept it.

Worse still is the scenario that if they win, they will become turncoats, which many believe they will. The opposition from now has to hammer in the fact that PAS is more inclined to Umno-BN and that a vote for PAS is a vote for Umno-BN.

You have to start on that without delay. The voters have to be informed of the backstabbing of PAS and that Parti Amanah Negara is the new version of the Islamic party and Malays can confidently vote for a better future with Amanah-Pakatan.

Do not waste any more time with PAS. Please, please, please.

Ksn: As far as the new coalition is concerned, PAS and its fanatics should be - to make Pakatan Harapan legitimate, trustworthy, dependable - out of the coalition. Rafizi is wrong in that aspect.

The Analyser: This article is all about winning. It has virtually nothing to say about which party will do what for the people of Malaysia nor for the country itself.

This winner syndrome is symptomatic of how deeply insecure Malaysians are. All they can think about is to win, (to beat Umno) and to hell with the consequences.

You can debate until forever over who is in bed with whom and what will happen when they win. But you cannot foretell what’s on offer if they win because they won't tell you.

They are saying nothing about their philosophies and policies, so there is nothing to hold them to should they win. You are heading for another Umno, where the standard of governance will depend on the fickle nature of an unusually selfish individual.

The desperation of insecure Malaysians to win at all costs has clouded your intelligence and your common sense.

I would have thought that your Anything But Umno (ABU) experience with Pakatan would have been enough to make you start thinking for yourselves. Apparently not.

Jaguh: Put it this way. The key are the Malay votes, especially in the rural areas. Umno will not give its seats held currently to PAS and vice-versa if they team up.

Amanah is the new kid on the block and while attempting to retain its current seats, it will go after PAS and Umno seats. That's how it’s going to happen, three-cornered fights.

The urban ones are a given, where DAP-PKR excel. PKR is also eyeing Umno seats. Where does PAS stand? They will be wiped out except in Kelantan (maybe).

So it’s best to stick to Pakatan Harapan - either PAS comes to the party or it should be gone forever.

Drngsc: Writer Ronnie Ooi, it’s better to have three-cornered fights than a snake in our midst. In three-cornered fights, we know what we are up against. With a snake in our midst, we never know when the snake will turn, bite you and then slither away.

We all want a better Malaysia where there’s a place under the Malaysian sun for all.

Najib, Hadi attend event together, Malaysiakini barred

Abasir: There is good reason for both these men to be nervous if they are seen together. For the RM2.6 billion chap (reportedly chosen by Allah), the sight of him cavorting with the turbaned mullah will not sit well with the hudud-averse hangers-on in MIC, MCA and Gerakan.

As for the principal of the Party of God, any picture of him hobnobbing with the high-flying multibillionaire will confirm all lingering suspicions about PAS and its self-serving agenda.

So, yes, no pictures and no reports especially from the only credible media organisation in the country.

Middle Path: To bar Malaysiakini from covering the event or any other event is to stop the truth from being revealed. Only people or organisations with things to hide need to bar any news media from the truth.

RCZ: Nothing to hide, something to hide or everything to hide? Malaysiakini , you must really be proud that you are a media force of such influence to be contended with.

Umno and Najib Abdul Razak are scared of the truth being reported.

Doc: I really wanted to know about the Hadi Awang-Najib pow-wow and how Najib will explain to Hadi that the RM2.6 billion ‘donation’ he received into his personal accounts is totally ‘halal’ and hence this will not obstruct a PAS-Umno alliance.

HaveAgreatDay: After frolicking in bed under covers with the Umnoputras, perhaps, the PAS leaders are worried about how they appear under the glare of Malaysiakini's spotlight.

Burning Nation: As long as Hadi is in PAS, you remain the past.
