Pakatan Harapan will hold its its leadership convention on Jan 9 next year to discuss common policies for the three component parties, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail announced today.
This would be the first convention between PKR, DAP and Amanah since the three-party coalition was formed on Sept 22.
“We will discuss our common policy framework and see what should be the basis of our cooperation,” she told a press conference after a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting in Petaling Jaya today.
Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub added that the Pakatan Harapan Leadership Convention will involve top leaders from the three parties but not members.
It will be held in Kuala Lumpur the exact venue of which will be announced later.
“In Pakatan Rakyat,we had the 25-point common policy framework. Here too, we will discuss such a policy framework so that we can settle matters before the next election,” he told reporters.
The Pakatan Rakyat coalition formed in 2008 disintegrated in June this year after a fallout between DAP and PAS.
PKR and DAP then formed Pakatan Harapan as its successor together with Amanah, which is a PAS splinter party led by former PAS leaders who lost in this year's party election.
