PAC member slams colleagues for 'misleading public' on 1MDB hearing
Middle Path:
Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member and Gerakan MP Liang Teck Meng is concerned about "selective and partial release of information"?
How come after so many months, we are still very much in the dark about 1MDB, which would have been different if the government and those concerned had been forthcoming and quick to provide clear information instead of giving selective and nonsensical answers?
It seems to me you are trying to gain brownie points instead of looking for the truth.
FellowMalaysian: If Liang is unhappy or dissatisfied with the conduct or behaviour of his other PAC colleagues, the appropriate action is to bring up his displeasure internally within the PAC meetings and voice out his opinion and concern in front of the two fellow members he had accused of committing misconduct.
Liang apparently did not even have the guts to name the two individuals. How credible could his claim be?
Appum: Liang, firstly Gerakan, like Umno-BN is suffering a ‘trust deficit’ (TD), so the more you try to ‘ampu’ (apple-polish), the more the TD increases.
The fact that your ‘ cari makan ’ chairperson is so fearful as to stop giving press conferences so that the media cannot inform the public - which is their duty to the people as far as information/communication is concerned - we see MPs Tony Pua and William Leong doing a great favour to Malaysians.
If your chairperson cannot handle the press , how can he handle sophisticated plots and intricate data that confront him?
So Liang, it’s good that you are appointed to the committee but do your duty objectively and focus on the real issues.
Al-Fulabuls**t: But Liang, is the lame-duck PAC truly and sincerely interested in unravelling the whole truth on this despicable scam?
Every sane person knows that it is merely an intricate tool used by you-know-who to allegedly steal tens of billions of ringgit of public fund.
Will you, Liang, care to conduct a simple independent public poll to find out what educated and informed Malaysians think of this humongous financial scandal?
Justine Gow: The ‘cari makan’ boss may be authorised to give statements on the hearing to the press, but being satisfied with the ‘answers’ is not the collective stand of the committee.
It is his personal view (if it can even be called a ‘view’). The statement on his ‘satisfaction’ with the ‘answers’ should not have been given as it may be incorrectly construed as the collective view of the committee.
Sideview: This is the type of people they have in Gerakan, ostriches who pretend not to know that the whole country is crying out for the truth in the 1MDB saga.
23451245: Indeed, a very shameful comment from a Gerakan MP. No wonder people have rejected Gerakan. Shame on Liang for trying to stop other PAC members from unearthing the truth.
I can't believe Gerakan would allow such a person to be their MP. At least, their president Mah Siew Keong or their Youth chief Tan Keng Liang are smart enough to keep quiet and not try to stop the truth from coming out from PAC.
Sleepy: The fact that the PAC is looking into it is bad enough, coupled with the overall lack of expediency in this matter makes it even worse, so stop your outburst as it means nothing to me.
Bumiputhran: Only fools will accept that Malaysia is governed by rule of law. Umno people, particularly the Chosen One , have decided to unshackle themselves from any accountability. God has given the Chosen One absolute command over his flock.
New Page: Liang, why don’t you let the public know the full facts? How can you blame the public from doubting the government if everything the government does is very secretive?
Old Timer: Liang, there is more than enough evidence to show that a big sum of money (taxpayers' money which should be used for the benefit of the taxpayers) has been hijacked by someone for dubious, illegal political use.
You, as an MP, elected by the rakyat have a duty to protect them and look after their interest and to help make public the findings of PAC. After all, PAC is funded by taxpayers' money.
It is already wrong in the first instance to bar the media from PAC proceedings. It really shows you can’t see or know what is wrong or right.
Saya Pun Nak Cari Makan: Liang, Pua did not divulge any secrets other than saying 1MDB president Arul Kanda Kandasamy tried to evade a question or two.
Anticonmen: Even the hawkers, taxi drivers, labourers and foreign workers can understand the alleged fraud and theft from the rakyat's coffers by the leader and party simply by reading the Sarawak Report and The Edge , but this so-called MP cannot.
Bystander: Arul Kanda has been trying very hard to explain something with nothing. So essentially and effectively we have not heard anything tangible on the 1MDB issue till date.
Liang, go do your apple-polishing somewhere else.
Anonymous 2358311441466692: Try understanding the words ‘trust deficit’ - you will know why the majority of Malaysians don't accept your, and the official, versions.
