Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today advised the people to report commercial fraud for the authorities to take action.
"If you come across any case of fraudulent trade, report to the authorities to enable investigation and the appropriate action.
"Don't take the law into your own hands," he said in a post on his Facebook account.
Last Sunday, a group of men believed to be traders of mobile telephones and customers engaged in a brawl at the Kota Raya shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur.
"I view with concern the brawl at the Kota Raya complex that had sparked public apprehension," Najib said.
Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Joseph Kurup dismissed assumptions that the brawl was of a racial nature.
He said the incident resulted from anger and reaction over consumer rights involving the purchase of a telephone.
