Two more earthquakes strike Tarakan, Kalimantan

Two more earthquakes hit Tarakan in Kalimantan, Indonesia, this morning, 12 minutes apart from each other, according to the Meteorological Department.

It said in a statement released in Kuala Lumpur today that the first quake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter Scale, occurred 25km northeast of Tarakan and 105km southwest of Tawau,

Sabah, at 10.55am.

The following tremor, measuring 3.2 on the Richter Scale, was reported in Tarakan and 60km southwest of Tawau at 11.07am.

The department indicated that the tremors might be felt in Tawau but there was no threat of a tsunami.
