Hadi should take hint from PAS veep Idris
YOURSAY | ‘This man has principles. The PAS of the past that I know.’
Want to merge with Umno? Then leave PAS, says a veep
Multi Racial:
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad show firmness. But he should know PAS cannot survive alone.
PAS was strong in 2008 and 2013 because it was teaming up with PKR and DAP. After securing the moderate Muslims’ and non-Muslims’ votes, their leaders especially Abdul Hadi Awang decided to woo Umno.
It is obvious, Hadi is the one behind the party’s move to work with Umno. Hadi should take the hint from Idris Ahmad and leave PAS so that PAS can revert back to their winning formula.
Anyway, without the progressives who are now the Parti Amanah Negara leadership, the present PAS is doomed.
Moderate Muslims and non-Muslims trust the Amanah leadership as they have demonstrated consistency in their policies and direction.
As for PAS, especially with Hadi at the helm, they are not trustworthy and backward in their thinking.
It is time for DAP and Amanah to move on. PKR has to decide whether they are in with them or not.
MinahBulat: Idris Ahmad, I think you are not being realistic, Hadi’s indications are clear and did you not see that matching baju at the conference for al-Azhar University alumni. Both he and PM Najib Razak looked so sweet, like ‘pinang di belah dua’.
Democrat: This man has principles. The PAS of the past that I know. It’s the PAS that I voted for. Keep it up man, you make a lot of sense.
RCZ: Hadi should come out and do his dictator thing and tell all his members to shut up or ship out if they don't agree with him.
After all, Najib did that. Once that is done, everyone who is right thinking of course, can make their own decisions and not toe the line blindly and stupidly.
SusahKes: So, are you implying that PAS would also lose Hadi, like its past leaders, seeing that he appears to be bitten by the Umno love bug?
Now, that is an interesting proposition, but men intoxicated with illusions of grandeur hardly acknowledge that they are part of the problem.
Anonymous #13114320: No point of disagreeing. At the end of day, it’s your boss who decides and not you.
You might even end up like Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin and get put in cold storage. You bark but don’t decide.
Tailek: PAS, most Malaysians are not bothered whether PAS ties up with Umno. But be warned, Umno is just using you like it uses everyone because it is at its weakest now.
Umno will never link up with PAS because it stands to lose all the non-Malay BN component parties, especially those from East Malaysia which is its fixed deposit.
Anonymous #12566075: If PAS leaders want to stop people thinking PAS is to be associated with Umno, the best thing is Hadi to openly say PAS will not do so.
Ian2003: That was when Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat was around. Now Hadi is the one calling the shots and most likely, Idris Ahmad, you'll be leaving PAS if you do not wish to join Umno.
Goldee: We voters are not bothered if PAS wishes to team up with Umno. We will make sure that they don't get our votes.
I don't blame DAP for being sore with PAS because PAS under the current leadership was never sincere in their struggle against Umno-BN. They have been quietly sleeping with Pakatan Rakyat’s opponents.
MacMac: PAS should invite Umno to combat rampant corruption and wastage of public funds.
Will PAS be able to do that? Cooperation on religious issue is the personal goal of PAS but what about other issues affecting the general public?
Send in the Clowns: Idris Ahmad, what is your stand and what have you to say of the impending sacred union of Umno-PAS?
If you do not put your money where your mouth is, PAS will end up having an illegitimate child, a great creation of Hadi and Najib.
Kamel: I earnestly hope PAS and Umno will consummate their relationship. Then a clear line will finally be drawn in the sand. Once and for all, the opposition shall rid itself of the perennial threat of three-cornered fights.
Out in the cold of this wedding may be PKR. PKR has been in a two-timing relationship, with PAS and Pakatan Harapan. Perhaps PKR should dissolve itself.
Those in the light should join Parti Amanah Negara or DAP. The voters want clarity. We're tired of the Machiavellian intrigue.
We don't want to hear the likes of "it's a blessing in disguise we didn't win the last GE..."
