Traffic flow on several highways started to slow down from noon today, with the increasing number of vehicles on these highways due to the long Christmas and weekend holidays.

A spokesperson from Plus Expressways Sdn Bhd's highway traffic control centre said that traffic was slow from the Juru Toll Plaza heading towards Sungai Dua due to an accident at KM132.6 of the North-South Expressway.

"In the south of the peninsula, traffic is slow from Senai heading to Sedenak," he said when contacted in Kuala Lumpur today.

Meanwhile, a Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) spokesperson said traffic heading to the East Coast was reportedly slow at the Gombak Toll Plaza.

"However, traffic flow on the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1), LPT2 and other highways are still smooth," he said.

The public can get the latest information on the traffic situation via the toll-free Plusline at 1800-88-0000 and its Twitter account or the MHA toll-free line at 1800-88-7752 or Twitter account .
