Traffic flow on several major highways leading to the capital was reported to be slow as the volume of traffic increased as at 8pm tonight.

A Plus Expressway Sdn Bhd traffic control centre spokesman told Bernama heavy traffic was reported from the north and south heading to Kuala Lumpur

The areas experiencing congestion were Changkat Jering to Bukit Berapit; Kuala Kangsar to the Sungai Rapat R&R; Menora Tunnel to North Ipoh; Gopeng to Tapah; and Bidor to Sungkai.

"Traffic flow from the south to Kuala Lumpur is also moving slowly from Senawang to Seremban," he added.

Meanwhile, a Malaysia Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman informed that an increase in the volume of traffic on the East Coast Expressway 1 had slowed down traffic flow from the Bentong Toll Plaza to Bukit Tinggi and Genting Sempah to the Gombak Toll Plaza.
