Number of flood victims in Kemaman rises this afternoon
The number of flood victims in Kemaman, Terengganu rose to 1,322 from 319 families this evening compared with 997 victims from 247 families this afternoon.
According to the secretariat of the State Flood Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), the number of victims for the whole of Terengganu was 1,690 from 442 families, with 19 evacuation centres remaining open.
In Kemaman, the number of evacuation centres operating was 14 while in the district of Dungun, there were 358 victims from 123 families staying at five evacuation centres.
Meanwhile, all the evacuation centres in the districts of Hulu Terengganu and Marang had been closed at 4.15pm today.
The weather situation was reported to be bright.
In KELANTAN, the number of flood victims moved to the relief centres in the Kuala Krai district remained at 54 this evening, unchanged from the figure in the afternoon.
According to the Kelantan State e-Banjir Portal, 47 victims from 14 families from Kampung Ghucil 7 in Kuala Krai were being placed at the Kuala Krai Veterinary Department Hall while a family of seven people from Kampung Olak Jeram was staying at the Madrasah Mesek, Kuala Krai.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Kelantan Welfare Department, Mohammad Hanafi Maulud, when met after visiting the flood victims, said necessary goods including food and blankets had been distributed to the victims.
The weather was also reported to be bright.
