US President Barack Obama will host leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, California, on Feb 15 and 16 next year.

The statement was announced on Dec 30 by the White House on the US-Asean Summit, reports Vietnam News Agency .

The gathering is said to be unprecedented and is expected to further advance the US’s re-balance to Asia and the Pacific.

“The summit will provide leaders a forum to strengthen cooperation under the new US-Asean strategic partnership, launched in November 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, on political, security and economic issues”, the White House stated.
