For Malaysiakini readers, tomorrow is another day

YOURSAY | ‘Another year has passed, another year has come and with that comes new challenges.’

Happy New Year from Malaysiakini

Vijay47: Another year gone, another year ahead. Let us not be discouraged by the pitfalls and traps that lie await, nor by an Umno even more strengthened by the National Security Council (NSC) Act with DPM and Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi already embarking on his typical obnoxious threatening ways.

To know your enemy perhaps gives us some respite, and for that we have to thank Malaysiakini founders Steven Gan and Premesh Chandran and its team of dedicated staff for keeping us in the loop with news the mainstream media would never inform us about.

Thank you also for giving me the opportunity to vent some steam and express my contempt, yes, for Zahid and always, the IGP (inspector-general of police), PM Najib Razak, and their latest member, the AG (attorney-general).

By the same token, it was rewarding to read the comments by Abasir, Res Ipsa, Odin Tajue, Analyser, Prudent, and countless others, including the inevitable cybertroopers for making Malaysiakini that cauldron of diverse thoughts and emotions.

To you, to me, come what may, Happy New Year, for tomorrow is another day.

Versey: Another year has passed, another year has come and with every new year comes new challenges.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Malaysiakini and its team of dedicated staff a very blessed year ahead.

My prayers and wishes for you and all fellow readers who speak out against corrupt practices, seeking social justice, ‘bersih’ and good governance, and with courage, hope and faith one will overcome all of the hurdles one may face.

God's justice always prevails and good will eventually triumph over evil. May all of you have a great and blessed year ahead and the dream of a free, democratic and prosperous Malaysia under constitutional rule will soon be realised.

May God's protection and rich blessings be upon you and all fair and right-minded Malaysians. Cheers!

Straight-Talk: Happy New Year 2016 to all staff of Malaysiakini .

It is a pleasure being a subscriber for the last six years to read news and views that were mostly censored by the government machinery.

Continue to expose the frauds and misgivings of the ruling government (which they keep denying) and promote racial harmony in subtle ways.

FellowMalaysian: Malaysiakini has given us lots of reading joy and pleasure and we hold you in high esteem for yet another year of what you promised and have delivered in 2015 - just keep dishing out the good stuffs.

To all the hardworking journalists and staff of Malaysiakini and to all readers, have a happy, peaceful and joyous year filled with good fortune.

Ksn: Happy New Year to all Malaysians and Malaysiakini personnel. I hope that the changes we all aspire for Malaysia will begin to take shape.

The country should practise social justice in all walks of life, regardless of race and religion.

We have resources aplenty, it should be used by competent people with integrity and without abuses. Can we look forward to that?

We have no choice but do what we can towards that end and pray. Best wishes to all.

Kingfisher: Congratulations and a happy new year to the dedicated team at Malaysiakini . Keep up with the good work and all best wishes for 2016.

Notwithstanding real world challenges to protect and promote press freedom, there is little doubt that freedom of the press is the fundamental premise for each and every democratic benchmark that profits its citizens.

Mojo Jojo: Thank you Malaysiakini for your courage and effort. Without you, news reporting in this country would remain in the dark ages.

Keep up the good work, and fight the good fight. Salute!

CQ Muar: In bidding 2015 farewell, we usher in 2016 hoping and praying for a better year ahead.

May we welcome more joyous events to replace those that had cause the people hardship by the imposition of GST (Goods and Services Tax), the passing of draconian laws in Parliament and a host of others.

More importantly, we hope peace will prevail, and good will triumph over evil.

Last but not least, I take this opportunity to wish everyone in Malaysiakini a prosperous, successful, fruitful and bright year. Happy 2016.

Res Ipsa: Keep up with the great job in providing alternative news for all Malaysians.

It was really a pleasure subscribing to Malaysiakini where the experience has been one of overwhelming satisfaction to say the least.

The quality of comments and views from people like Odin Tajue and Vijay47, to name a few, make great and worthwhile reading material. Keep the adrenalin flowing, guys. God bless.

Abasir: May 2016 and beyond continue to bring everyone in the valiant Malaysiakini team the rewards that inevitably follow a job well done for the sake of a greater good.
