Flood evacuees in Serian, Sarawak, return home
All the 56 flood evacuees in Sarawak returned to their homes today, allowing the relief centre at the Darul Hadhari surau of Kampung Rimba Padi in Asajaya to be closed.
Sarawak Department of Civil Defence public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the centre in the Serian Division was closed at 10.15am after the evacuees, from 17 families, went home.
In Johor, a family of five has returned home from the flood relief centre at the Gemereh 4 community hall in Segamat, reducing to 26 the number of flood evacuees in the state as at noon.
Twenty people from four families still remained at the centre while six people from three families were still being housed at the Kampung Lepau community hall in Kota Tinggi, according to the portal of the Johor Disaster Management Agency.
